Summer Lovin': La Bamba
By: Teeanna I.
The hottest spot to be this summer is La Bamba Island cuisine in Burbank, California. The walls are beautifully painted with island vibe images and the mural demands attention with it's colorful depiction of bananas and dancers.
The food is impeccable. I had fried plantains and The St. Thomas Burrito which was just $8.75. It is an oven roasted burrito with, shredded pork, pico de gallo, shredded jack, cheddar cheese, sour cream, guacamole, black beans and rice served on the side. Trust me, it's considered the most popular for a reason. I stick with the fresh Mango Margarita that is so scary good you might order two.
The place is full of fresh fruit and offers gelato of every flavor. The outdoor seating is covered, but gives enough sun to keep your sunnies on . You feel as if you stepped off of a plane into the caribbeans as soon as you get there. In this warm weather, we cooled down with fresh coconut gelatos that were so inexpensive we ordered a few.
La Bamba has been this summer's hottest spot for keeping us cool and full, without breaking our banks.
